Reverend Jim Evans, Chaplin
Father Jim Evans is a priest in the Diocese of Austin where he has served as pastor and associate pastor. His past assignments have also included director of the Office of Social Concerns and director of Catholic Charities. Currently, in addition to serving as the chaplain for St. John Paul II Life Center, Fr. Jim is on the board of directors of the Frontline Faith Project, is the chaplain for the Texas State Guard, and co-hosts Mary’s Touch, a radio program broadcast on more than 100 stations across the country.
Elizabeth LeChien, Volunteer Manager
Elizabeth has volunteered her time as our volunteer manager since 2013. She orients new volunteers and coordinates volunteer activities throughout the year. She also helps us with our annual “Amplify Austin” campaign. Elizabeth is the mother of three young children and may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bert Guidry, Database Manager
After a short time of retirement, Bert felt compelled to use his computer experience to help St. JPII Life Center manage their database. He is the Pro-Life leader of his Knight of Columbus council in the Diocese of Fort Worth. He and his wife Rosary, who pray weekly outside of Fort Worth abortion facilities, are the parents of four and the grandparents of eight.
Debbie Collins began volunteering with St. John Paul II Life Center in August of 2011. She assists with volunteer coordination for many of our events and comes in weekly to promote our mission to churches in the diocese. “It is a pleasure volunteering at the St. JPII Life Center,” says Debbie. “I couldn’t ask for a better bunch of people to be associated with.” Debbie also volunteers with Mobile Loaves & Fishes and works part time for her husband, Tom. The Collins’ have one daughter and son-in-law who live in Austin.
Volunteer Client Advocates
Judy and her husband Richard have been married for 31 years, have 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and have fostered 70+ infants over the past 20 years. Judy is registered nurse and has enjoyed a career in the medical device industry. She has a passion for the Pro-Life movement, having served as a sidewalk counselor for Central Texas Coalition for Life, and as a board member, client advocate, and founding co-chair of St. JPII Life Center’s leadership program, Circle of Life. Additionally, she has served on several non-profit boards and is very active at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, and Legatus Austin.
Marcia began as a crisis pregnancy consultant during the summer of 2014. She participates in Forty-Days-For-Life by praying for abortion-minded women and workers at Austin clinics and is passionate about Pro-Life efforts. She has three twenty-something children and a husband who is very active in the Austin diocese. Marcia tutors math and is pursuing a certificate to allow her to teach formally at the high school level. She loves working with young adults and looks forward to many beautiful relationships at St. JPII Life Center.
Lily Paquett Oberg, Volunteer Client Advocate & Instructor
Lily Paquett Oberg has volunteered with St. JPII Life Center since 2012. She is a devoted mother to her son Charlie. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University as well as a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is a client advocate and teaches nutrition classes. In her free time she enjoys traveling, skiing, reading, and fishing.
